The BAIID will prevent your vehicle from starting until you pass this breath test inside your own car.
Those required to have this device in order to drive will be given a special license that indicates this driving limitation. You may not drive any vehicle without a BAIID. This will be a significant problem for anyone who has a commercial driver’s license, or has to drive different vehicles in his or her jobs.
It will make travel much more difficult, since you won’t be able to drive a rental car.
The penalty for operating a vehicle without a BAIID interlock device when your license is limited to only such a vehicle, is a Class 4 felony level charge, and a mandatory (minimum) 30 days in jail.
