Amalgamated Transit Union
Tower Legal is proud to announce a partnership with the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 241 in Chicago, Illinois. With over 180,000 members in 267 local units in the US and Canada, ATU is a large organization that represents working men and women in the transportation industry. Each local unit has autonomy. Chicago’s ATU Local 241 is the second largest unit within the ATU with 10,000 members.
ATU Local 241 is made up of members that are employed by the CTA, Pace and the RTA.
- CTA—Chicago Transit Authority. The CTA provides bus and rapid transit rail service within Chicago and surrounding suburbs.
- Pace—Pace provides bus transportation in six counties surrounding Chicago: DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, Will and suburban Cook.
- RTA—Regional Transportation Authority. The RTA oversees the finances and budget of the CTA, Metra and Pace, and has responsibility for regional transit planning issues.
ATU Local 241 negotiates on behalf of members for fair labor agreements with the CTA, Pace and the RTA. Specifically, ATU Local 241 endeavors to improve and protect:
